are found behind the control panel and are connected to the control knob. These
are used to set a period of time for your Tumble dryer to be working.

pads are what the drum rests against whilst it is spinning, over time these
bearing pads can become warn down. If your Tumble dryer is making an unusual
noise whilst the drum is spinning, then it is possible that you will need to
replace your bearing pads.

Fans are connected to the motor, they are often described as looking like
hamster wheels. These fan wheels are used to circulate airflow through the
dryer. The fan wheel is made of plastic and can crack or break over time, and
if the fan wheel isn’t working efficiently then your clothes will take longer
to dry.

cut out is a safety feature on the heating element, the cut out will fail
if the heating element gets too hot. Sometimes the cut outs will only be
available with the Heating element.

can either be used to turn the belt, which then turns the drum. It can also be
used to ease tension on the belt. The pulley can fail by snapping or wearing
down.
A
tumble dryer belt
is used to connect the motor with the drum when the motor spins it turns the
belt and this in turn, turns the drum. Because the drum spins at such a fast
speed the belt is one of the most common spare parts to fail on a tumble dryer.

elements are used to create hot air within the drum. The heating element is
a common spare part to fail on a tumble dryer. The element can be found at the
back of the drum with two thermostats attached to it. If your clothes are
staying wet in the the dryer and the not heating up then it is likely that the
heater has failed

are used to select between different programs, this spare part can often break
accidentally, more often than not it is the shaft on the control knob that
breaks, this is a really easy part to fix yourself just requires you to swap it
over.
There
are different types of door
locks on tumble dryers some just work as a catch and latch system where as
others might have an electrical interlock. The catch and latch systems are the
most common, and are also the easiest to fit yourself. If your door wont stay
shut on your tumble dryer then it is likely that you will need to replace your
door lock.

is the part that powers the drum via the belt and tension pulley. The motor
spins, which is connected to the belt, the belt then turns the drum. If your
drum isn’t spinning and there is no noise then it is likely that the motor has
failed.

handle can snap over time, there are usually a couple of parts that come
with the door handle which include the handle spring and pecker. If the door on
your tumble dryer won’t stay closed then it is advised to check that the pecker
hasn’t snapped off the handle
