Fridge Spares that most commonly break

Bottle shelves are located inside the door of your fridge positioned at the bottom. They are generally used to store milk and other large items for quick access. These Fridge bottle shelves or Dairy shelves as they are also known are made from plastic and can easily break if knocked or over loaded. They are fairly simple to replace they should just unclip out, by lifting the whole tray upwards.

A Crisper Shelf is located just above your salad drawers. These are often made of glass or sometimes plastic. These Crisper shelves can often get smashed or cracked if a heavy item is dropped on them. This is obviously an easy replacement; the crisper shelf will just slide out.
Crisper drawers or salad drawers as they are commonly known are located in the bottom of the fridge and they get their name from the item they most commonly store. These Crispers are made from plastic and can easily crack or snap.

A thermostat in a fridge controls the temperature using a dial. The thermostat will have a long capillary that just looks like a length of wire, this capillary acts as a sensor to tell the thermostat to heat up or cool down. If you are finding that your fridge is not staying cold, it is likely that your thermostat will need replacing. To access your thermostat you will need to possible remove the light cover, if it is not behind the light cover then it is possible that it is situated just above the top of the fridge door.

If your fridge is electronic and does not use a thermostat dial, then you will have a control board, on a tall fridge you may find the control board located behind the control panel at the top of your appliance. If you have a side by side fridge freezer then it is likely the main control board is located at the back at the bottom behind a plastic housing. You may also find that there is a display board located on the front of your Fridge, depending on the problem this may need replacing as well.
Evaporator doors are used in fridges that have ice boxes at the top, they are used to keep the temperature in the ice box cooler than the temperature in the fridge. These evaporator doors have little spigots that act as hinges, that break often, if the evaporator door is not fixed then large amounts of ice and frost will build up inside the ice box, making it impossible to store anything in it.
Lamps in your fridge are one of the most common parts to break in your fridge, your bulb will be located behind a shield, that will need to be removed before the old bulb can be unscrewed out. It is not necessary to get a bulb from the same manufacturer as your fridge so long as the fitting is the same and the wattage is the same a universal one will do
